Overview

The Association’s wide variety of corporate and government programs provide high level forums for engaging in dialogue and discussion. For over 65 years, it has provided an important for the political and business leaders from the United States and Australia. Each of the Australian Prime Ministers who served since 1950, many of the Prime Ministers of New Zealand, and the chief executives of many of the leading companies in the United States and Australia have been among the many individuals hosted by the Association. It has become customary for visiting Australian Prime Minister's to give their inaugural address in the United States to members of the American Australian Association.
A long standing marquee program, the Australia Day Black Tie Gala, is a celebration of Australia in the United States and is held to commemorate Australia Day. It provides a very unique opportunity for corporations and individuals to conduct high level business networking; to celebrate the Australian American partnership and to cultivate new and long standing relationships. High achieving Australian business leaders, entertainers and sporting personalities are recognized and honored as part of the Australia Day celebrations.
The Association focuses its corporate and government programs towards educating its members about topical government, business and legislative issues that may affect corporate interests in the US or Australia, including for example foreign policy, trade and investment, taxation, work visa issues and professional development.
The Association also offers opportunities for corporate members to discuss issues affecting the wider Australian and United States relationship.
