Born in Darwin, Andrew N. Liveris is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Dow Chemical Company, a materials, polymers, chemicals and biological sciences enterprise, with 2016 annual sales of nearly $48 billion.

An international advocate for the criticality of manufacturing to the long-term health of national economies, Liveris has been tapped to lead President Trump’s Manufacturing Jobs Initiative; previously he served as Co-Chair of President Obama's Advanced Manufacturing Partnership steering committee and as a member of the U.S. President’s Export Council.

He sits on the Board of Directors of IBM, is Vice Chair of the Business Roundtable, an Executive Committee Member and Past Chairman of the U.S. Business Council, and a member of the Concordia Leadership Council and the Australian government’s Industry Growth Centres Advisory Committee.

 

Liveris graduated from the University of Queensland and is Inaugural Chair of The University of Queensland in America Foundation. In 2014, he was appointed Officer of the Order of Australia for services to international business.
