Previous Scholars at the Benefit Dinner

The Education Program

The American Australian Association launched its Education Fund in 2002 and is currently funded largely through monies raised at our Annual Benefit Dinners and through direct corporate sponsorship. The Education Fund was established to support post-graduate study and research between Australia and the United States and is the largest source of privately funded educational scholarships between the two countries.
The American Australian Association awards scholarships each year to Australians and Americans for advanced research and study in the United States and Australia respectively. The Scholarships build on existing strong social and economic partnerships and foster intellectual exchange between the United States and Australia.  To date, over 300 Scholars have received awards totaling over US$7 million to pursue studies in critical fields - from key medical research to sustainability - at leading Australian and American universities.

The American Australian Association offers the following Postgraduate Education Scholarships.
Study Level Graduate or post graduate
Enrollment Acceptance or affiliation to a US educational institution for full time study or research
Citizenship Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia

Scholarships are granted up to US$30,000-US$40,000, the intent is to support part of the costs for 1 year of study in the US

   Deadline  April 15, every year
