AUSTRALIA DAY ARTS AWARDS DINNER                    

On Friday, January 26, the American Australian Association hosted the Australia Day Arts Awards Dinner, presented by National Australia Bank, and in partnership with G’DAY USA. A capacity crowd of 350 guests gathered to honor some truly amazing Australian creative artists at Skylight Modern, New York.  Two-time Academy Award nominee, Naomi Watts and Laura Brown, Editor in Chief of InStyle, were each distinguished with the AAA Excellence in the Arts Award. The AAA Rising Star Award was presented to Warner Bros. Recording Artist Chase Atlantic.

ANZAC DAY & VETERANS' LUNCH
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 25, 2018

VETERANS' LUNCH | CIPRIANI WALL STREET

On April 25th, the AAA and ACG will jointly host an ANZAC Day commemorative service at Trinity Church, followed by an ANZAC Day and Veterans' Lunch at Cipriani Wall Street. The lunch will celebrate ANZAC Day, deepen the US-Australian defense alliance and raise funds in support of the American-Australian Veterans' Scholarship Fund.

VETERANS' SCHOLARSHIP FUND RECIPIENTS ANNOUNCED

The American Australian Association is delighted to announce the selection and appointment of our first eight (four American and four Australian) Veterans’ Scholarship Fund recipients. 

These inaugural scholars will undertake undergraduate and postgraduate studies in a wide range of fields including nuclear diplomacy, public health policy, leadership and sustainability, supported by scholarship grants of up to $40,000.

AAA - GSJMF LEADERSHIP SYMPOSIUM

On Friday, March 16th, fifty AAA and John Monash Scholars in international affairs, human rights, science, health, the arts and more will come together for a Global Symposium exploring the ‘Challenges and Future of Leadership’ in celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Battle of Hamel and the ‘mateship’ between Australia and the USA. The symposium will be held at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia in New York.

DAME JOAN SUTHERLAND FUND RECIPIENTS ANNOUNCED

The Association granted three Australian artists the Dame Joan Sutherland Grant awards in the last quarter of 2017 to further their work as curators and composers in the United States.
