2019 BENEFIT DINNER
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 29, 2019

Join us at the 2019 Benefit Dinner in honor of The Hon. Joe Hockey, Australian Ambassador to the United States and Jeanne Johns, Managing Director & CEO, Incitec Pivot Limited on October 29 at Cipriani Wall Street.

The evening will highlight the depth and strength of the US-Australia business relationship as well as our Education scholars and alumni. Since 2002, the Association has invested over US$8.5 million to support more than 300 American and Australian scholars undertake graduate study and research in a wide range of fields, including medicine, science, technology, engineering, mathematics, journalism and sustainability at prestigious institutions in Australia and the United States.

2019 ARTS SCHOLARSHIPS AND GRANTS
USA TO AUS AND AUS TO USA 
OPEN SEPTEMBER 1, 2019

The AAA's Arts Fund will provide support to American and Australian emerging or early career artists pursuing or wishing to pursue artistic development in each other's country. These scholarships and grants support artists in the fields of theatre, film, television, dance, music, visual arts, design, literature, photography and fashion. 

  • Arts Grants (Round 2): Supports American and Australian artists with grants up to US $5,000 to pursue artistic development in the country of the other.
  • AAA-Nomad Two Worlds Indigenous Arts Scholarship: Offers support of up to US $20,000 to assist a Native American, Alaskan Native or Native Hawaiian artist wishing to pursue artistic development in Australia.

2019 GRADUATE EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIPS
USA TO AUS ONLY
OPEN SEPTEMBER 1, 2019

The AAA's Education Fund will provide support of up to US $40,000 to Americans undertaking or planning to undertake full-time Graduate level study (Masters, Ph.D. or Postdoctoral Research) at an accredited educational institution in Australia for a minimum of one-year.

  • Specialty Scholarships: Supports study or research in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Health, Medicine and Sustainability. 
  • The Dean's Healthcare Scholarship: Supports research or study looking at healthcare funding policy in Australia.
  • AAA - Lisa Fox Indigenous Scholarship: Supports a Native American, Alaskan Native or Native Hawaiian in any disciplinary field.

2019 VETERANS' EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIPS
USA TO AUSTRALIA ONLY
OPEN SEPTEMBER 1, 2019

The AAA's Veterans' Fund will provide support of up to US $40,000 to honorably discharged post-9/11 American military veterans, undertaking or planning to undertake full-time Undergraduate or Graduate level study at an accredited educational institution in Australia for a minimum of one-year. 

  • Multi-Disciplinary Scholarships: Support Undergraduate or Graduate level study in any disciplinary field.
  • AAA - Sentinels of Freedom Scholarship: Will support a disabled American veteran who has been wounded or injured in a post-9/11 service related event at Graduate level or above in any disciplinary field.

AUSTRALIAN INTERNATIONAL SCREEN FORUM
INAUGURAL WOMEN IN SCREEN WORKSHOP


The AISF presents the inaugural Women in Screen Workshop this October in New York. The AISF is calling for applications from emerging NYC-based female filmmakers looking to move their careers to the next tier. The program will run for one evening a week for six weeks and include seminars, panel discussions, networking, and work-in-progress workshops for filmmakers.

The lab will create a space for female filmmakers to discuss industry hurdles and challenges that they face and how resourceful solutions can be put forward to create opportunity and progression for their careers. The lab will provide seminars on access to funding in the US, audience strategies, negotiating pay and work placements, creative relationships and networking in the US, pitching projects and mentorships led by women.

AWNY MET ROOFTOP SUMMER COCKTAILS

MDA's TASTE OF AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND - MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 16

The Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA)’s Taste Committee invite you to join them for their 26th Annual Taste event. Discover and experience cuisine and beverages from our Australian and New Zealand partners. Proceeds will help fund a week at MDA Summer Camp, where kids living with muscular dystrophy and related diseases learn independence and gain valuable life experience, all at no cost to their families. 

AAA Education Alum Dr. Monkol Lek, will be honored on the night.
