THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF THE 70TH ANNIVERSARY BENEFIT DINNER

On Tuesday, October 30, the American Australian Association was joined by over 600 guests - friends, scholars and corporate supporters - at our 70th Anniversary Benefit Dinner at Cipriani Wall Street, New York.  This year’s dinner was a historic and festive occasion - celebrating 70-years of advancing and promoting the American-Australian alliance. 

As part of the celebration, the Association honored two leaders of significance – Marillyn Hewson, Chairman, President & CEO, Lockheed Martin Corporation and Rupert Murdoch AC, Executive Chairman, 21st Century Fox and News Corp.

AMERICAN AUSTRALIAN ARTS AWARDS

NOMAD TWO WORLDS FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP NOW OPEN

The Nomad Two Worlds Foundation is offering a USD $20,000 scholarship to assist an emerging or early career Native American artist in their professional development in Australia.  The scholarship will be awarded to a Native American artist who shows great talent in the fields of theater, fashion, dance, film & television, music, literary arts, visual arts, crafts and design.

  AMERICAN AUSTRALIAN BUSINESS COUNCIL MIDTERM ELECTION DEBRIEF

On Wednesday, November 14, the
American Australian Business Council (AABC) was proud to present a Midterm Election Debrief with Bruce Mehlman of Mehlman Castagnetti Rosen & Thomas and Sarah Storey of the Government of Australia.  Hosted by Servcorp on the 85th floor of One World Trade Center and with espresso martinis from Bluestone Lane, it was an insightful and thought provoking evening and a great final event for the AABC 2018.

Bruce is a highly sought after speaker specializing in political analysis and his quarterly updates on political trends are frequently covered in the Washington Post, Axios, Politico, CNN and he frequently briefs boardrooms and associations across the US.  Prior to the event last evening, he appeared live on FOX NEWS.  Slides from Bruce’s analysis can be downloaded here.




   
     

SCHOLAR UPDATE - ELIZABETH BURGESS

Congratulations to our 2017 Australia to USA scholar Elizabeth Burgess for completing her research on whales at the Anderson Cabot Center for Ocean Life at the New England Aquarium.  Her study indicates that under the right conditions, scientists can get real-time hormonal data by collecting the spray from whales’ blowholes.
