On 22 January over 430 guests celebrated Australia Day

Celebrating Australia Day at the AAA's Black Tie Gala

On 22 January over 430 guests celebrated Australia Day under the grand 70-foot Wedgewood dome at Cipriani Wall Street in the Financial District. Food maestro Mario Batali introduced the Australia Day honoree Gordon Elliott who regaled guests with humorous tales of his early days working in television in Australia and America.

Among the special guests who took to the stage were the Minister for Foreign Affairs, the Hon Julie Bishop MP, and performers Marcia Hines AM, Amelia Cormack and singer songwriter Georgi Kay.

Guests feasted on an Australia inspired menu of Skull Island giant tiger prawns and rack of Thomas Farms South Australian lamb, washed down with Calabria family wines and Coopers beer from South Australia.

Despite the onset of record snow, guests danced on until the wee hours of the morning. A great night was had by all!

Australian Chamber Orchestra - The Reef
16 - 18 February

After huge critical acclaim in 2012 and 2013 in Australia The Reef returns, and this time Richard Tognetti shares this genre-defying mix of music, film and the natural world with the USA.

A crew of surfers, musicians and filmmakers spent two weeks at the Ningaloo Reef, where the desert meets the sea. Their resulting film captures the ocean, the world's best surfers, the arid desert landscape and the starry sky, as an incredible array of music swirls around you.
