Devastating wildfires have ravaged Australia for months. Despite heroic efforts from fire fighters and emergency responders, there are still several hundred fires burning across the continent. So far, over 24.7 million acres of land have burned with substantial loss of life to people and animals and destruction to more than 1,500 homes and vast tracts of natural habitat.
There is no time like the present for the Australian and American community to come together and show our support for those in need.
The American Australian Association has established two separate Funds to support recovery programs and emergency assistance for Australian people and communities; and to protect and preserve Australia’s unique wildlife that has been decimated by the devastating fires.
The Australian Bushfire Relief Fund will enable 100% of donations from the United States to be directed to the Australian Red Cross’ Fire Response.
The Australian Wildlife Fire Fund will enable 100% of donations from the United States to be equally shared between WIRES, Wildlife Victoria and the Zoo Aquarium Association of Australasia.
The Association will issue an official receipt for your U.S. tax-deductible donation. The Association is a section 501(c)(3) public charity, contributions to the Association’s programs and contributions are tax-deductible to the extent provided under the U.S. Internal Revenue Code.
Please make checks payable to American Australian Association with address details and memo noting the Australian Bushfire Relief Fund OR Australian Wildlife Fire Fund. Send to: American Australian Association, 50 Broadway, Suite 2003, New York, NY 10004.
