After graduating from a BA in Communications, Media, Arts & Production at the University of Technology, Sydney, Georgia was the editor of music street press The Brag for two years, before going freelance as a writer and producer. She wrote and directed several short films, and also worked as an online writer for Fremantle Media Australia (So You Think You Can Dance, Australian Idol and more). Her first novel, She’s With The Band, was published in 2008 by Allen & Unwin. Funny, fresh and aimed at teenage girls, the novel follows the coming-of-age story of Mia Mannix, as she starts a band with two friends at a performing arts high school in Sydney. It has attracted five star reviews. Georgia has also developed several television show concepts about everything from dancers to vampires. She writes for popular music, pop culture and lifestyle publications, including Cleo and Girlfriend. She is in New York City to develop a new screenplay and a new book.
