Damian Sim recently relocated from Brisbane, Australia to New York City to pursue a Master of Arts (Music - Jazz Performance) at the City College of New York. He is currently receiving ensemble coaching from Grammy-award winning bassist/composer, John Patitucci and with generous assistance from the Dame Joan Sutherland Fund, private piano instruction with Garry Dial.

By the time Damian completed his Bachelor of Music (First Class Honours/Griffith University medal) at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music (2007), he had already established himself as an in-demand musician throughout Brisbane. He has both led and performed in groups at numerous festivals including Brisbane International Jazz Festival, The Valley Jazz Festival, Brisbane Festival, Broadbeach Jazz Festival and regularly performed at notable local venues such as The Turnaround! and Brisbane Jazz Clubs.

More recently, Damian can be heard on the Enthusiastic Musicianʼs Orchestra (EMO) release, One For B; an album featuring the compositions and arrangements of Graeme Norris and Andrew Garton. He accompanied many international and award winning artists such as Amanda Carr (USA), Jeff Jarvis (USA), Don Rader and Tyrone Noonan, and also toured with singer-songwriter, Mark Sholtez (ARIA-nominated/APRA-award winner). Throughout 2010 and 2011, Damian regularly performed throughout the Caribbean, both with his own quartet and the Shannon Marshall Quartet, onboard Royal Caribbeanʼs Allure and Oasis of the Seas.
