2ND ANNUAL AUSTRALIAN INTERNATIONAL SCREEN FORUM
LINCOLN CENTER, MARCH 19-22

Showcasing groundbreaking new Australian content, workshops with leading film industry mentors, and heralding exciting homegrown filmmakers, the second annual Australian International Screen Forum will take place in New York City, March 19-22, 2019.

Jennifer Kent’s The Nightingale will serve as the opening night film and Top End Wedding, which premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival, closes the 4-day gathering of Australian and US industry professionals. A major centerpiece event is the 25th Anniversary Screening of Muriel’s Wedding, with members of the cast in attendance including star Toni Collette. Ladies in Black from director Bruce Beresford and Jill Bilcock: Dancing the Invisible will also screen. High profile keynotes and discussions include producer Jason Blum, director Bruce Beresford, editor Jill Bilcock in conversation with Baz Luhrmann and NCIS showrunner Shane Brennan. HBO and NBC will present panels.

The annual event, which held its inaugural event in March last year, sees Australia’s emerging and established creative talent and New York based film and television industry participate in workshops, panel conversations and showcases. This year’s topics include sessions related to Financing, Audience Development, Casting and Creative Relationships and Festivals & Markets, with a specific focus on international independent feature film and television production, devised in conjunction with Baz Luhrmann and Catherine Martin. HBO will host a case study with the filmmakers of United Skates, the Tribeca award winning documentary. The upcoming feature film Hotel Mumbai will be the subject of a case study in international co-productions and marketing.
