Aussie Writers in New York
Thursday, September 6 

Join former Sydney-siders Georgia Clark (The Bucket List, The Regulars) and Lexi Freiman (Inappropriation) for a lively discussion about literature and life as a novelist in New York City. They’ll be in conversation about their process, how to write and sell a book, their critically acclaimed new novels and how to make a living as a creative in this big, bad city that we all love.

THE PANELISTS

Georgia Clark is an author, performer and screenwriter based in Brooklyn. She wrote the critically acclaimed novel, The Regulars, and the "witty, sexy" (L.A. TimesThe Bucket Listboth Simon & Schuster. Her first books were the Young Adult novels She’s With The Bandand ParchedGeorgia is the host/founder of the storytelling night, Generation Women, which invites six generations of women to tell a story on a theme. She is currently developing The Regulars as a TV show for E!. A native Australian, she lives in Brooklyn with her girlfriend and a fridge full of cheese. 

   
 

Lexi Freiman is the author of Inappropriation, published by Ecco, HarperCollins. Her novel was celebrated in the New York Times Book Review's summer debuts issue and has been long-listed for the Center for Fiction's First Novel Prize. Lexi graduated from Columbia's MFA program in 2012, where she was a d'Alba fellow. She has been a recipient of the NYC Emerging Writer's Fellowship, an Aspen Words scholarship, and has published fiction in The Literary Review and LitHub. She was previously the fiction editor at George Braziller and associate editor at Persea Books. Before moving to New York in 2010, Lexi worked as an actress for several years with Australia's national Shakespeare company, performing in As You Like It, Romeo and Juliet, and Pericles, all at the Sydney Opera House. She lives in Manhattan.
