Australian Short Film Today Screening

The Australian Short Film Today 2021 program will be showcasing the latest award-winning short films from talented young Australian filmmakers. The program will be screening at the Asia Society on Thursday 5 May.

 

Film Screening Program

  • Ayaan – When fugitive encounters a man on a rural beach, she must decide whether to trust him, or journey on alone.
  • The Egg – A young girl, bored in a muted world of foreign suburbia, becomes determine to claim an Easter egg as her own. No matter the cost.
  • Elders – Two Elders take their grandson out bush and put him to the test.
  • Idol – A young Chinese celebrity is called into an emergency meeting after a fan of his commits suicide.
  • Groundhog Night – Gary’s so used to caring for his disabled daughter Jess, he can do it in his sleep. But when the in-laws come to stay, everyone will get a wake-up call.
  • Roborovski – Roborovski follows the eponymous thimble sized hamster, who spends his days at Marvin’s Pet Shop, hoping to find a family.
  • Skewwiff – An elderly man insists on granting his wife’s wish of taking their car through a drive-thru car wash.
