Devastating bushfires have been spreading across Australia for months, and they show no signs of slowing down. So far, over 12 million acres of land have burned, destroying more than 1,500 homes and sadly over 20 people have died and many more remain missing. Entire towns have evacuated to the shores and volunteer firefighters have left their families and careers behind to fight the flames around the clock.

There is no time like the present to come together and show our support for those in need. The American Australian Association has established the Australian Bushfire Relief Fund that will enable 100% of donations from the United States to be directed to the Australian Red Cross’ Fire Response.  The Association will issue an official receipt for your U.S. tax-deductible donation. The Association is a section 501(c)(3) public charity, contributions to the Association’s programs and contributions are tax-deductible to the extent provided under the U.S. Internal Revenue Code.

Your support will go towards recovery programs and emergency assistance in communities affected by bushfires; helping people and communities respond to this disaster and protect what matters most; and support for Australian Red Cross volunteers.

Checks made payable to American Australian Association with address details and noting that it is for the Australian Bushfire Relief Fund. Send to: American Australian Association, 50 Broadway, Suite 2003, New York, NY 10004.
