Keynote Lunch Address - The World Economy & Australia

Keynote Lunch Address - The World Economy & Australia
Glenn Stevens, Governor, Reserve Bank of Australia

On April 20th, the American Australian Association in conjunction with Goldman Sachs was honored to host a Keynote Lunch Address ‘The World Economy & Australia’ with Glenn Stevens, Governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia in downtown New York.

American Australian Association President, Frances Cassidy welcomed 200 plus financial services, corporate, government and media representatives, including Robert Thomson, Chief Executive, News Corporation and the Hon. Nick Minchin, Australian Consul General to the lunch.

Governor Stevens was introduced to attendees by Goldman Sachs President and Chief Operating Officer Gary Cohn, before addressing the audience on prospects for the world economy and how global trends have affected financial and economic conditions in Australia and how the Australian economy is adjusting to the changes in the terms of trade.

The speech was followed by a Q&A session with the audience, with the Governor fielding requests for comment on interest rates and the future value of the Australian dollar.
