On June 11, 2015, the American Australian Association hosted former Australian Prime Minister, the Hon Kevin Rudd at our Annual Spring Lecture Lunch held at JP Morgan Chase and Co. headquarters in New York.
American Australian Association Chairman, Ms. Jennifer Nason (and Global Chairman of Technology, Media & Telecom Investment Banking at JP Morgan) introduced Mr. Rudd to the 80+ guests in attendance.
Mr. Rudd, who is the inaugural President of the Asia Society Policy Institute delivered the keynote speech on Alternative Futures for U.S. – China Relations; his speech and findings of which emerge from the April release of a major study ‘U.S.-China 21’ he authored for the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at the Harvard Kennedy School; which explored the future for US China relations over the next decade under the leadership of President Xi Jinping. The speech was followed by a Q&A session with the audience, where Mr. Rudd was asked to comment on a wide range of topics from India’s relationship with China, to China’s land reclamation and island building in the disputed South China Sea. The lunch was brought to a close by Mr. Paul Compton, CAO at JP Morgan Chase & Co.
