The Race that stops the nations was watched live on satellite by AAA and AILA members as they enjoyed Australian food and wine. Best-dressed prizes were awarded during a ‘fashion on the field’ parade and sweeps were drawn.
AAA Business Breakfast: Australia/ U.S. Relations

Association members gathered for a breakfast meeting and policy discussion lead by Australian Consul-General Los Angeles, Chris De Cure and featuring Geoff Garrett CEO of the United States Studies Centre at the University of Sydney and former Ambassador Michael Thawley. The group discussed recent elections in the US and Australian and similarities and differences in US and Australian policies and politics.

Three hundred Association members and wine enthusiasts enjoyed sampling over 30 different New Zealand Wines and hors d’oeuvres prepared by New Zealand Ambassador Chef, Neal Fraser. The event benefited the Doug Wisor Memorial Scholarship that sends a talented US wine-maker to New Zealand to learn more about wine making.

AFL fans were treated to two AFL Grand Finals this year, owing to a tied first match and then a re-match. Over 300 Association members and friends, joined Australians in LA to watch the final on the big screen.
