Join the Boston Center for Adult Education, the Australian American Association, and Wine Australia's James Gosper for the discovery of the key wine regions of the smallest continent and exploration into the diversity of Australia's wine regions. We will look at the "terroir" of 6 - 8 key regions from the east to the west Coast, and taste the "regional hero" varietals from each region.

About James Gosper

James began his career in Australia’s wine industry at Crittendens Fine Wines while he was studying his Bachelor of Agricultural Economics at the University of Sydney. Completion of his Bachelor degree led to James’ first winemaking position as Cellarhand for the 1992 vintage at Lindemans winery in the Hunter Valley NSW, and then onto Pipers Brook vineyard in Tasmania. April 1992 – Dec 1994 – James managed a specialist Wine retail boutique, Paddington Fine Wines, in Sydney.
He left in Jan 1994 to take up various Vintage positions, including 8 months at Cloudy Bay, in Marlborough, NZ. James joined the team at Domaine Chandon/Green Point in December 1995, as Quality Controller. Whilst still studying for his Oenology degree ( Charles Sturt University), James was appointed Assistant Winemaker in June 1997. On Completion of his Oenology degree, in January 2000, James was appointed to the position of Winemaker, primarily responsible for the production and development of still wines. July 2003 – Jan 2007, James advanced to the position of Chief Winemaker / Winery Manager, and in this role headed the winemaking and production teams at Green Point and Domaine Chandon Australia. Jan 2007 – March 2009, James took up a position of Brand Manager in NY, USA with Moet Hennessy USA. James was responsible for the marketing and sales nationally for Green Point, Cape Mentelle and Cloudy Bay wines.
In March 2009 James moved to the Position of Regional Director for North America for Wine Australia. Wine Australia is the Market Development division for the Aust. Wine & Brandy Corporation. James is responsible for the marketing and promotion of the Australian Wine category for the USA and Canadian markets, on behalf of the industry as a whole.
