The American Australian Association is awarding eleven Fellowships for its annual Australia to US Fellowship Program to leading Australian scholars for postgraduate and postdoctoral research at top American institutions. These Fellowships continue the Association’s support of intellectual collaboration and innovation between Australia and the United States.
The 2008 program has attracted high caliber and credentialed Fellows conducting research in nanotechnology, engineering, chemistry, neuroscience and international business. These Fellows will be undertaking postgraduate and postdoctoral research at leading American universities including UCLA, Harvard University, Stanford University and the Mayo Clinic, and are drawn from Australia’s leading institutions including Melbourne University, The University of New South Wales, Monash University and Macquarie University.
The Association established the Education Fund in 1998 to promote educational exchanges between the United States and Australia. The Association awards Fellowships for postgraduate and postdoctoral research, particularly in medicine, life sciences and engineering. The Fellowships have been funded through sponsorship of key corporate members and a series of annual Benefit Dinners honoring prominent Australians and Americans. To date, over 75 Fellows have received awards totaling over $2 million.
Our Annual Benefit Dinner this year celebrates our 60th Anniversary and recognizes all the Association’s past honorees and will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2008, at Cipriani Wall Street. For more information, please visit www.americanaustralian.org/benefitdinner
