On Tuesday June 2, 2009 over 50 people gathered at JP Morgan headquarters in Midtown Manhattan for the American Australian Association's Spring Lecture Luncheon with Robert Thomson - the Editor-in-Chief, Dow Jones & Company and Managing Editor of The Wall Street Journal.
Enthusiastically introduced by James Lee Jr., Vice Chairman, JP Morgan Chase & Co., and Co-Chairman, The Investment Bank, Robert discussed many different topics ranging from the sometimes daunting developments with the digitization of news to the issue of understanding the full impact of the internet on society, people and then the interaction of the two.
Questions from guests covered a range of topics including the globalization of news, proliferation of Twitter, and the policy of different newspapers to use unnamed sources. You can read Robert's speech here.
Jennifer Nason also was welcomed by guests as a new board member of the American Australian Association.
