Hon. John Olsen AO farewelled at the March Reception
On Thursday March 5th 2009, over 80 people gathered in the Monash Room at the Australian Consulate for the first social gathering of the year, the March Reception.The event was particularly poignant as it was also the farewell for Australian Consul-General to New York, The Hon. John Olsen AO. American Australian Association President Frances Cassidy spoke about John's achievements especially in building up the Australia Week profile. She also highlighted the dedication of his work in both Los Angeles and New York to further strengthening the Australian/US alliance.
John spoke of how interesting and challenging living in New York is and his experiences both in Los Angeles and New York.
Guests feasted on pies and sausage rolls from the Down Under Bakery and there was a lucky door prize full of goodies from the Australian Catalogue Company.
