The American Australian Association was established in Los Angeles, California, in 2006. In 2007, it effectively merged with AANZA, making it the leading California Association based in Los Angeles.
The Association prides itself on its strong membership of both individuals and companies from Australia and the United States, making it an effective platform for networking, skills and business development, policy and cultural exchange and leadership.
Signature AAA California events include social and cultural events such as the Annual Melbourne Cup, AFL Grand Final, Museum Tours and Wine Tastings as well as Corporate and Career Development seminars such as The Annual Business Awards Luncheon, Tax and Immigration forums and investment panels.
In addition, the Association's Philanthropy program in contributes to our Education Fund, The Dame Joan Sutherland Fund and the Doug Wisor Memorial Scholarship.
A Benefit Dinner honoring Rupert Murdoch AO, and Mel Gibson was held in 2006 to establish the Association in California. Since then the California Region has honored Chief Executive Officer of Qantas Airways, Geoff Dixon. Special guests included Qantas Ambassador, Captain John Travolta. Most recently, the Association honored Nobel Prize-winner and world renowned Australian born scientist, Dr Elizabeth Blackburn and CEO of Cappello Capital, Alex Cappello.
