The Benefit Dinner is shaping up to be an extraordinary evening, as we recognize our distinguished past honorees. The evening will feature an entertaining and meaningful program and attendance by New York’s financial and business leaders, including our Lead Dinner Chairs, John Hess, Chairman & CEO of Hess Corporation, Klaus Kleinfeld, President & CEO of Alcoa Inc. and Kevin Sharer, Chairman & CEO of Amgen Inc. We are also pleased to announce that the evening will feature an exclusive preview of the upcoming Baz Luhrmann movie epic “Australia” starring Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman, and a special guest performance by Michael Johns, Australian finalist of American Idol (Season 7).
The Association established the Education Fund in 1998 to promote educational exchanges between the United States and Australia. The Association awards Fellowships for postgraduate and postdoctoral research. The Fellowships have been funded through a series of Annual Benefit Dinners honoring prominent Australians and Americans. To date, more than 75 Fellows have received awards totaling over $2 million.
