Australian Women in New York
Come along and join us – The Australian Women in New York
Australian Women in New York (AWNY) is a dynamic group of women of all ages and backgrounds, including professionals, new mums and ladies of leisure.
In June 1999, a small group of women formed a committee to discuss ways of providing social and networking opportunities for expatriate women living in the New York area. Over the past ten years since its inception, the group has expanded steadily and while the majority of members reside in New York City, a significant number live in the greater New York State, Connecticut and New Jersey.
AWNY hosts a diverse range of social events and other activities providing opportunities to catch up with old friends and make new ones. Events include:
• Coffee mornings at the Australian Consulate - usually the second Wednesday of the month
• Educational and cultural tours - usually the fourth Wednesday of the month
• Lunch outings
• Shopping trips and tips
• Mums & Bubs Group
• A monthly newsletter
• Attending events together such as receptions, book launches, and wine tasting evenings.

AWNY is part of the American Australian Association and both corporate and individual membership to the Association automatically entitles women to join AWNY. If you know someone who would like to join AWNY, please forward this information to her – AWNY welcomes all newcomers, both members and non members of the Association and fresh ideas for activities and coffee morning speakers.
