HISTORY

Founded in 1948, the American Australian Association is the largest non-profit organization in the United States devoted to relations between the United States and Australia and New Zealand. 

For over 55 years, it has provided an important forum for political and business leaders of the United States and Australia and New Zealand. The Association was founded with the intent of assisting and facilitating the establishment of a closer relationship between Australia and the United States in the post-World War II era. 

The Association operates throughout the tri-State area and in New England and California. It is also affiliated with the American Australian Association, Ltd., based in Sydney. Funding for the Association is through memberships and annual fundraising events. The Association is a Section 501(c)(3) public charity, contributions to which are tax-deductible to the extent provided under Section 170 of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code.  

2008 marks the 60^th Anniversary of the American Australian Association, and to mark the Anniversary, the Association is holding several special gala events to celebrate its history.
