Heather Irina Cohn Heather is a MD PhD Candidate and studies the genetics factors influencing skin cancers. Through understanding the genetic factors that put patients at risk, a deeper understanding of skin cancer pathology can be gained leading to advancements in patient care. |

Jonathan Diaz Jonathan’s postgraduate investigates galaxy formation. Jonathan’s goal is to further our current understanding of how and when the first galaxies were formed. A recipient of the prestigious Goldwater Scholarship, Jonathan’s research will ultimately be tested by data from the SKA telescope. |

Frederic Joseph Pollock College of Charleston / James Cook University Research Interest: Life Sciences - Marine Science Joe is currently pursuing a PhD at James Cook University (JCU) and the Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS), developing tools to diagnose and study coral disease on Australian coral reefs. Previously, a Fulbright Postgraduate Fellow, Joe is building upon his earlier research by further work on coral disease in Australia. |

Leah Muller Louisiana State University / Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute Research Interest: Biochemical Engineering / Stem Cell Research Leah designs and implements novel therapeutic agents that will improve the treatment of disease by providing safer, more biocompatible alternatives to today’s treatment options. Leah’s background is in researching biochemical compounds and protein engineering for the growth of stem cells. Leah hopes to work toward using controlled gene expression and protein production in the human body for the treatment of disease. |
